Attractions
There are a whole host of attractions in Nottinghamshire and many people want to take in Nottingham Castle and Sherwood Forest. Although these two are the most famous given their association with Robin Hood, there is much more to discover. From family attractions to live music concerts and adventure sports there’s a whole host of things to do to keep everyone and anyone entertained.
There are lots of activities in the city centre which are all close together and within a short walk from Nottingham Castle you can make it to the NCCL Galleries of Justice or the National Ice Centre and Nottingham Trent FM Arena. On the outskirts of Nottingham there’s plenty of sports venues with the National Water Sports Centre, Nottingham Racecourse and Nottingham Tennis Centre all hosting magnificent events.
Out in the county, there are many intriguing places with Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve, the National Trust property of Clumber Park, Rufford Abbey, Newstead Abbey, Thoresby Park and Sherwood Pines all as major places to visit. Most of these places are free or have a small admission/car parking charge and make the perfect way to spend a day out and about on holiday.
